30g of freeze dried berries (1.05g collective phenolics) in otherwise healthy men for four weeks reduced liver enzymes (ALP by 6%) with no effect on other liver enzymes of hormonal parameters; there was no influence on superoxide dismutase nor catalase yet an increase in glutathione peroxidase (15.3%) which led to reduced lipid peroxidation (12%).
