Concentrated Bovine Colostrum Protein Supplementation Reduces The Incidence Of Self-reported Symptoms Of Upper Respiratory Tract Infection In Adult Males

この研究の注釈:

Supplementation of 60g colostrum (control using whey protein) daily for eight weeks noted that, in the last seven weeks of the study (first week could potentially have prior infections confounding the results) that colostrum was associated with a 32% occurrence of symptoms of URTI while whey was associated with 48% occurrence; while a reduction in risk of symptoms was noted, the duration for when they occurred was not affected.

Subjects were mildly physically active, and the pool of participants in this study was not unique to this study but instead assessed data from participants in previous studies in which logbooks with sickness rates were collected.

Effect Of Bovine Colostrum Supplementation On Respiratory Tract Mucosal Defenses In Swimmers

この研究の注釈:

Supplementation of colostrum (50g taken in two doses daily; about 3% IgG) in both athletes and sedentary persons for 10 weeks failed to influence both salivary and serum concentrations of IgA, IgM, and IgG; while it appeared that there were less upper respiratory tract symptoms in the latter half of the study with colostrum this did not reach significance.

The Effect Of Bovine Colostrum Supplementation On Salivary IgA In Distance Runners

この研究の注釈:

In long distance runners, supplementation of colostrum powder at 26g daily for 14 weeks (placebo of skin milk) noted an increase in salivary IgA of 79% (relative to a 12% increase seen with placebo) noted at 12 weeks (but not 4 nor 8).
