The Effects Of Catechin Rich Teas And Caffeine On Energy Expenditure And Fat Oxidation: A Meta-analysis

この研究の注釈:

A meta-analysis of green tea consumption found that a cup of green tea is likely causative of approximately 5.7g of body fat to be ‘burnt’

The Effects Of Green Tea On Weight Loss And Weight Maintenance: A Meta-analysis

この研究の注釈:

Meta-Analysis of 11 studies looking at green tea consumption over a period of 12 weeks minimum noted, on average, 1.31kg weight loss with more effects occurring in asians and more effects in non-habitual caffeine users; although these two latter effects were not statistically significant.

Catechin Safely Improved Higher Levels Of Fatness, Blood Pressure, And Cholesterol In Children

この研究の注釈:

576mg Green Tea Catechins were consumed daily by obese or near-obese schoolchildren in Japan for 24 weeks. Control group had 70mg catechins.

Results were insignificant until compared against median baseline stats, in which the higher catechin group was significantly more effective than the low catechin group in reducing LDL and waist circumference.

Good safety profile established.

Green Tea Catechin Consumption Enhances Exercise-induced Abdominal Fat Loss In Overweight And Obese Adults

この研究の注釈:

625mg catechins with 39mg caffeine (experimental) versus 39mg caffeine with no catechins (control) over 12 weeks induced fat loss. However, this was not statistically significant although it trended towards it.

Effects Of Catechin Enriched Green Tea On Body Composition

この研究の注釈:

Four experimental groups were used; low catechin (30mg catechins, 10mg caffeine) high catechin (886mg catechins, 198mg caffeine) and two groups at moderate levels (458-468mg catechins, 104-126mg caffeine) but differed in frequency (1 cup v. 2 cups daily).

A decrease in waist circumference was noted in the highest catechin group and was associated with 1.2kg body weight lost in 90 days relative to control. Both moderate consumption groups lost weight relative to control (low catechin) but higher intake was more significant.

Green Tea Improves Metabolic Biomarkers, Not Weight Or Body Composition: A Pilot Study In Overweight Breast Cancer Survivors

この研究の注釈:

960mL of decaffeinated green tea daily (235.64mg catechins, divided into four doses) for 6 months failed to reach statistical significance, although it trended towards it.

Nonsignificant improvements seen in insulin sensitivity and HDL:Total cholesterol ratio, significant improvements in HDL seen.
